Livleen Kaur (President 2022-23)

The Health and Mind Club has been a big part of my life since I first joined it in 9th grade. It provided me with a community of like-minded individuals who felt the importance of mental health as deeply as I did and sought to fight the stigma against it. As a former shy kid, the club really kick started my journey into advocacy and taking initiative for things by providing me with numerous opportunities to use the skills I was good at and develop new ones, which is something I will forever be grateful for.

Being President of the Club for session 22–23 was a dream come true, and it taught me more than I could have ever imagined about leadership, responsibility, and communication. I’m truly grateful for the supportive community I was provided through this club and all the wonderful people I got to acquaint myself with and work alongside this year.

I wholeheartedly believe in the message the club aims to spread, and I am incredibly excited for the next generation of the club. I hope it can be a support, a community, and an incredible source of learning for various others just as it was for me.
