My journey with the Health and Mind Club started in Grade 10,when I decided to get more involved and take on responsibilities within the club. With many of the Grade 12 students occupied with their boards, I started hosting events and taking on a more active role. In Grade 12, I became Vice President, which gave me the opportunity to lead, organize events and work closely with a team.
The club taught me much more than just leadership. It taught me responsibility, communication, teamwork and, most importantly, how to lead by example. One of my favourite experiences was Project Unboxed, our youth mental health conclave, which brought together 150+ students, multiple committees and several speakers. Being able to create a platform where students could openly talk about mental health was something I will always remember. The club gave me the confidence to take initiative and make a difference, and those lessons have stayed with me beyond school.
I know I will carry everything this club taught me throughout my career and in whatever I choose to do in the future. The Health and Mind Club gave me some of my best memories of DPS Sharjah, and I will always be grateful to have been a part of it.
