Health & Mind Club marks Mental Health Awareness Month with HAPPY HOURS – an initiative of the club to make a difference using the power of music to feel, heal and connect !
Health and Mind Club presented “Happy Hours” on 20th October 2021. This session aimed to promote mental health awareness and instill a sense of positive wellbeing in students through music.
Diya Khaitan Vice President, Health & Mind Club and Sana Banu, President Student Council welcomed all the teachers and students and spoke about the importance of mental health.
Annamaria Rodrigues(12C),Khyati Saxena(11B),Poorna Thummarakoti(11D) enthralled the audience comprising students and teachers of grades 9 to 12 with foot tapping and melodious songs.
Listening to music together increases feelings of social connectedness, this elevates mood and builds relationships and connections that are protective against mental distress. Music can positively influence one’s mental and physical health, and it brings people together as we witnessed today.
The purpose of organizing these concerts was to spread awareness among students and teachers to stop the stigma surrounding mental illness and to have open conversations around mental health.
