PEER EDUCATION PROJECT: HEALTH & MIND CLUB RAISES AWARENESS ON POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH

Members of the Health & Mind Club conducted an engaging webinar for grade 6 students on 18th October 2021. The topic for the webinar was “What is mental health”

Good mental health is key to the healthy development and well-being of every child. Children need good mental health, not only to be able to deal with challenges and adapt to change, but so they can feel good about themselves, build healthy relationships with others, and enjoy life. The aim of the Health and Mind club is to ensure that students have a healthy and positive mindset.

The peer led session was conducted by Saraswathi Iyer,11C and Raunak Raghavan,11K.The purpose of this webinar was to make students aware of the importance of mental health and share with them tips to take care of their wellbeing. The speakers shared with students on how to handle big feelings and small feelings, breaking down the myths surrounding seeking help and improving our mental health. The five ways to wellbeing, Connect, Learn,  Be Active, Take Notice and Giving was shared.

The session concluded with a highly interactive Q and A where Raunak and Saraswathi answered the questions put forward by students.

We hope this webinar serves as a reminder to all the students to take care of their mental health and make self-care a priority.
